US Carriers Still Unable to Meet iPhone 4S Demands
The Wall Street Journal is reporting on the continuing shortages of the iPhone 4S for US carriers well over a month after the device was launched. In turn, the carriers are reporting that this is not due to Apple’s lack of production capabilities, but rather higher than expected demand.
Apple will always give priority to their own distribution channels such as their retail stores and online store, but the latter is still reporting a 1-2 week shipping estimate. The company is also utilizing a new reservation system, in which customers can come in reserve an iPhone unit, and return the next day to make the purchase when a new shipment arrives.
